Hog roasts are perfect for both indoor and outdoor celebrations, and this wedding was a truly rustic event. Our lovely couple had planned a tipi wedding in a field for around 75 guests. This unique and intimate wedding style created a feeling of escapism with a beautiful backdrop that allows for some outdoor elements if the weather permits.
THE MENU – Planning a wedding hog roast package
While some couples plan an evening spit roast, our client wanted a hog roast package to cater for the whole day. This included BBQ catering canapes, a hog roast wedding breakfast, delicious desserts and gourmet evening snacks. The hog roast was perfectly seasoned and slow-cooked for 6 to 7 hours, producing melt-in-the-mouth pork and the ultimate crackling.
THE RESULTS – The ultimate hog roast celebration
This wedding hog roast was an absolute hit, sprinkling extra magic on each part of the day.
Guests enjoyed a canape station after the ceremony, in which couples can choose several small bites. Options include prawn and rump skewers, lamb lollipops, corn on the cob minis with a butter dipping sauce, boerewors and salmon crostini.
Our couple and their loved ones then enjoyed the ultimate hog roast wedding breakfast with all the trimmings, including tasty sides and scrumptious desserts, all delivered to tables in the tipi.
